Wink Is it true about the 274HP 2.3L DOHC?

Is it true that the 2.3L DOHC turbo currently being offer in the MAZDA6 is the same basic design as the one offer in the MAZDA & FORD RANGER.
IF IT IS THE SAME FOUR CYLINDER let's lobby Ford to funnel some of these Good parts to us consumers. Even better still, have FORD build one awesome little RANGER SVT (or something like the LIGHTENING BOLT) for the public.
HORSEPOWER is back in style!!! This could be an easy 13 sec. terror at the local dragstrip if you know what I mean???

No they offered a 2.3 sohc in the merkur in the us.
They offered it overseas in merkur's and escort cosworths. They did make a prototype in the states that was 275hp in a mustang svo. But they never did production on it. Some guys are working on making a cast and going in to full production here in the us but it will likely be awhile.

You could always swap a volvo cylinder head on to a 2.3 ford turbo. Do a search in google and you will pull up some stuff. But mazda's motor is 275hp motor but i think it is duratec not lima block.
