Unhappy MOTORCRAFT oil filter confirmantion

I had the oil changed today in my SuperCrew, at Wal-Mart, in Iola, Kansas. I ask the service guy, if it was true that MOTORCRAFT was not going to be available in the store any more. He said, "MOTORCRAFT elected to take the oil filters out of our stores, to direct business back to FORD. That is really gonna hurt us here, in this store, 'cause we sell ALOT of their filters".

I bought some extras, just for me to have around.

Well I have a feeling if that is true then it will hurt their total sales as well. I dont see people making the extra trip to the Ford dealership to buy a filter. I wonder if the same will hold true for the other autoparts places, such as O'Reilly's?
