Post In & Out

If it is like my truck 04FX4 (scab) you must:
  • turn the key to the on position without starting
  • wait for the airbag light to turn off (1 min but seems long)
  • In under 90 sec. buckle and unbuckle your seat belts 8 times
  • The air bag light will flash 3 times then buckle and unbuckle once more to complete the process
  • the air bag light will flash one more time to confirm action
This was in another posting of the same title which is in this very forum. I may be wrong and I am not taking credit for this discovery. I would look for it if you have any problems.

Does disarming the seatbelt alarm effect the passenger air bags? Just curious.

Along with those instructions you have to put your emerg brake on and it`s nine times to buckle and unbuckle.Page 117 or 118 in the book.

I've found the easiest way to turn off the "ding" is to:
Put key into the ignition -
Actually start the engine -
Fasten the seatbelt -
Put truck in drive -
Start driving - amazing - no "ding"
You've just successfully disengaged the alarm without wasting your Saturday morning!!

OR, you can do like me and turn the "beltminder" on and off for both the drivers seat and passengers seat, (repeatedly) and still not get the seat belt chime to sut off. I know I must be doing it right because I can get the single burst of air bag icon flashes (thats off) as well as the double bust of flases (thats on), but no matter what that lovely chime continues to do its thing! Take your choice waste your time or not!

Nice response, very insightful answer, if you can't say something helpful then shut the #@&! up.

Me thinks F150Lady might need a name change to F150CrossDressingTruckDriver

Not sure what you have but this will work with at least up to th 03's:

1. Start in the truck with all doors closed and the key turned off.
2. Put the switch in the on position and press the door unlock button 3 times.
3. Put the switch in the off position and press the door unlock button 3 times.
4. Put the switch in the on position, you should hear a quick note from your horn.
5. Press the door unlock button 1 time then press the door lock button 1 time.
6. You should hear a short note from your horn indicating that the auto-lock system is disabled. If you hear a short note then a longer note from the horn then the auto-lock system has just been enabled.
7. Turn the switch to the off position. You will hear a short note from the horn to let you know that the system has been changed.

These steps should be done within 30 seconds in order to properly activate or deactivate the feature.
