As soon as I got home I started researching internships for the summer at ford. I am in college now and I plan to apply as soon as I am eligible. Someday maybe I will be working along side you and the thousands of other dedicated ford employees. Any advicve would be appreciated. I look up to anyone who works at that amaizing place in Michigan.
Ford Motor Company gets tons of interns from around the world every summer. However, your best bet would be to attend a college in SE Michigan. Many of our colleges have degrees geared towards automotive technology and design. Ford hires some interns as full-time or co-op employees prior to completing their degree. I think they must be considered late Juniors or Seniors. At that point, Ford pays your tuition. You can continue to attend college part-time, earn your BS and Masters with Ford's money. Beats delivering pizza to earn money for room and board (lol). Pays a lot better too.

Your best bet is majoring in the engineering field. Engineering offers a world of options: electrical, mechanical, industrial, etc. Hybrid powered vehicles and hydrogen fueled vehicles will continue to be designed and developed over the next several years. Talk to your college counselor about a career in the automotive industry. Tell them you want to work as an intern at Ford.

Good luck.

Hello to all. New here. just wanted to echo the sentiments on the Dearborn plant tour. It is the best! Plan at least two days if you want to go to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village also. The tour can be included in the ticket price and is the ultimate for an F150 fan. I went in October and decided then and there to switch to Ford from Chevy. I love my new Lariat supercab and as luck would have it, it was built at the rouge plant.

I worked at Ford's Cleveland Engine Plant 1 and Cleveland Foundry and neither place is what I would call a vacation hot spot (just HOT!). It sounds like the assembly plants would be a nice place to tour.Anyway, I sure do appreciate A & Z plan!
