Belt removal - tensioner won't move

Well I feel like a moron, I can't get the belt off my 5.4L truck. I have a 4.6 mustang and have had the belt off a dozen times so I am not sure why I am having trouble here. When I put my 1/2" drive wrench in the whole and try to go clockwise with it to move the tensioner to get the belt off, it doesn't budge. I yanked on it pretty good, but it still didn't move. The one in my mustang is much easier to move.

Am I doing something wrong? I know this shouldn't be difficult. If it means anything, it's like 10* outside.

HEY.
The belt tensioner might be frozen, might need to replace it. just a thought. Good luck.

My did that at first on the 4.6 f150 1999, then it gave .. I would just replace the whole thing they are not very expensive. May as well get rid of you problem now as how it bite you later. depending on the mileage you probably need to anyway. Was very simple on mine.

The tensioner on my '97 4.6 F150 is pretty stout - used a 15" breakover and it took a fair pull to move it - wound up using a cheater to make it easier to hold. I also found that I needed a tool to help me manipulate the belt off and on - made an "L" shaped hook out of some 1/8" rod.

I was able to get the belt changed out. I used my breaker bar and a different angle and was good to go. Thanks!
