I don't seem to have a snap ring to hold the piston pin in place. How do I pull the piston pin from the piston. I don't see anything holding it in place. Does mine need to be pressed out or something??
The Ford small block uses a press fit piston pin, so you need to press it out of the rod small end. It must be done carefully if you are saving the pistons. A machine shop is your best bet.
If you are a rookie and this is your first engine rebuild, don't torch the pins, you risk distorting your pistons!! Take it to a machine shop and let someone with the proper tools and experience handle it.
