94 E 150 Misfire ???
Need help with a 1994 E-250 4.9 6 Cyl. This van has what feels like a hard misfire when cruising or partical throttle application. Nothing will show up on a scope and there are no codes stored in the computer. The misfire feels like you are turning the ignition switch on and off really fast. The problem is very intermediate. The following has been changed: Spark Plugs,dist cap,rotor,distributor,module,plug wires,ignition switch,ignition coil and TPS,air filter and fuel filter. The engine has good compression and fuel pressure is 48 psi. The charging system is working fine, 14 volts. The timing is set to specs. It will not misfire when loading up the vehicle while in the shop. If the plug on the neutral switch on the transmission is undone the problem goes away. Also if I rotate the ignition switch toward the crank position making the ABS light come on and no speedometer reading while driving the misfire stops till I release the switch back to the run position. Has anyone had this problem before?? What about the PCM.
