Wink 2005 F150 Headlights

Hi,

When I open my truck with the key fob the headlights always come on. Is there any way that I can set it so they don't? It is really annoying... I understand safety and all that but I don't want to announce to the world that I am opening my truck. I think that is less safe.

Please Help!!!

PS. I used to post on here about my 2000 F150 that had a chattering rear end.. It was getting worse so I decided to fix it by getting a 2005 F150 SuperCrew. This is a totally awesome truck... Power like you wouldn't believe. 300 HP.. it goes like a scared rabbit. the only thing I don't like is the headlight deal..

Thanks

I believe they won't turn on if you do not have you headlight switch set to the "automatic on" setting.

The owners manual has the info to change the settings.

It's in the Locks and Security section of your manual- The 2004's have it on page 90. You can disable the perimeter lighting feature. I would encourage you to go to the Ford website, in the owners section and download the PDF of the owners manual. It's much easier to find information when you can scroll throught the pages.
