I went a couple of years ago and it rained the whole time so less than half of the spaces were full that day. Going back this year to try it again(taking my 11 yr old for the first time). It is a big meet and I'm sure there will be some truck stuff. I have an 51 F-1 and didn't see a huge amount of stuff for it but you may have better luck on a 56. But what the heck, walking through any swap-meet beats staying at home working on the honey-do's.

I have been to it several times. It seems to have more private "clean out the barn" type people instead of the big guys.

Hmmm Scot. That might not be a bad place for folks with the bigger or unusual truck models to look for parts. Finding running boards or certain other parts for bigger trucks and panels might be easier at that type of meet. What do you think?

I hope I'm not digging up old bones with this late reply.

I've been to the Decatur meet every year for quite some time. It is usually very full and getting bigger. Some years it's really cold. Some years it's really wet. Some years...well, you get the picture.

Obsolete Ford Parts of OKC brings a large truck. If you call ahead, you can save shipping and pick it up at the meet. There is also a guy from Boyd, TX (David Starr) that usually brings a trailer full of F-100 parts. He deals in used stuff only and his place is less than 30 minutes down highway 51, if you need something he didn't bring.

All in all, it's usually a good meet and growing every year. It's also the first meet of the year in the North Texas area, so I've usually got the "rusty metal itch" pretty bad by then.

Good Luck!

Jeff,

I went last year and going this year. A little cold, wet, and muddy but a good meet.
If you are looking for parts, or need the whole truck Fatford's right, David has and can find you just about anything you can, and will need.
If you email me I will give you his #. If you call him first with what you need, he'll bring it to the meet. And he won't knock your head off with his prices.
Also if you live around here (DFW) area, the Arlington swap meet is now at La Grave Field in FW (where the Cat's play ball) around the first weekend in Apr., and don't for get Pate at TMS also.
Hope this helps,
Scott

Twice a year in Canton, TX, someone usually sets up an Automotive swap meet at the
First Monday flea market grounds. Usually happens around the 2nd or 3rd weekend of Mar or Apr and Sep or Oct. I live in Athens, Tx and have been to it a few times. I haven't bought anything there but it's always worth the look.

I am going to go this year. Look for a booth with an AMC Rambler slammed and a 302 motor in it for sale. That is my cousins. I will be around there somewhere too. I also hope to have a cool little mini/mid size chopper that a buddy of mine and I built with a 71 or 73 Honda CB 350 in it. I had a 71 and a 73 model and I can't remember which one we used now. Anyway it is pretty neat. I have a lot of looking to do for parts for my 51 F1 too. I also would like to run across some decent headers and valve covers for a 390 that I have in mine.

Who all is gonna be there this weekend?

Hey Guys,

Who is going to be up there this weekend. I am taking the day off Friday so we are going up that morning. I am selling and buying some stuff for my 51 F1. We will have a black 63 Galaxy 500 my cousin is selling that is really nice. A 63 AMC Rambler with a 302 stuffed in it, M II clip, 9" rear end, slammed with cool looking wheels on it. I call it the gumball rally car. I may have an orange mini/midsize chopper a buddy and I built there with a 71 Honda CB 350 parallel twin in it. We will have a cab for a 48-52 F1 that is in good shape, and not that anyone here would be interested but he has a nice, really, really nice original 55 chevy pickup (you would not believe the interior in this thing), a 54 chevy coupe that is a project car, but it is really straight, and I think a 41 chevy pickup cab (can't remember for sure if its a 41, but it is an early 40's model). Anyway if you see that stuff gathered in one place that is us, lol

If anyone is going and has a decent tailgate for a 51 F1 let me know. I am looking for stuff for my 390 also (valve covers, headers, 3 deuce or 2 - 4 intake, gasket kit, etc)
