have 4000-5000 for mods on 4.6
I am looking where I can best spend it on mods to beef up the engine. I am assuming I should get a super charger and this might be the best single mod I should do but I am sure I need to get it to breath better to go with this mod and I dont know which supercharger to get(paxton, Belle, powerdyne). With 5k to spend what would be a good combination for bolt on applications only. I really dont want to get into the engine. Also I already changed the exhaust with a 1 to 2 flowmaster system so I probably wont change anything else in the exhaust. Evrything else is stock.

SUper Charger would definatly be your best bet for Bolt on horse power. I've heard bad things about Powerdyne. Mainly with there bearings I think. I plan on getting an ATI Procharger by the end of this month. You can alsways get a Chip from Motor Haven. Maybe an FTVB (vaulve body). Efans. All of those would be good complimants for an SC.

If you want good low end torque and power thru the entire rpm range, you will want a twin screw type blower that sits on top of the engine. Kenne-Bell has a good one as well as Holley. Good set of headers, high-flow cats and Flowmaster cat-back will really wake it up. A good air intake wouldn't hurt either.

Go with the Kenne Bell. The centrifugals are fine for higher RPM use, but this is not where most people are operating their motors, especially in a truck. The Kenne Bell will add loads of torque from just above idle all the way to redline. The Holley is not a twinscrew. It's a Roots type, formerly B&M. I'm not aware of a Holley kit for the mod motors anyway. In any case, limit your boost to 5 or 6 lbs. The stock powdered metal connecting rods are not designed to handle high boost. They can otherwise take the abuse.

As an owner of a Vortech supercharged mustang, let me tell you I wouldn't want a standard centrifugal on a truck if it was used for towing at all. TOO MUCH HEAT!!
If you are just looking for some street punch, and aren't going to tow the Vortech is hard to beat for reliability, but I personally would buy something with an intercooler anyway. To be honest, I'm not sure who offers what for the trucks. The rest of your money should be spent on fuel system upgrades and good tuning. You can tune yourself, but if this is the first blower you have had, I would pay to have someone else keep you safe. Anything left....spend on exhaust.
