Trailer Hitch

DAThomas9,
If your F-150 is equiped with the factory tow option the interface for electric break controler is a special cable adapter that should be in your glove box or storage compartment. This alows easy addition of an after-market break controler without the hassle of splicing into the existing wiring harnesses. It is pretty much a "plug & play" type configuration.
As for the coolers my truck has both the Trany and power sterring coolers and i did not have the factory tow package.

You want to measure the height of your TRAILER'S hitch when levelled. Then get a drawbar with a drop which levels your trailer's hitch correctly. Otherwise all kind of unitended stuff can come into play. For example; hard braking can make the boat trailer misbehave, especially if it has surge brakes, too low & it overbrakes, too high & you get not enough brakes. Wind gusts or passing trucks can make the trailer squirelly & it can be worsened with a misbalanced load.
