Will an '04 Ford Explorer Head unit fxn in the F150?
Firstly, this is my first post but thanks for all of the info, it's been extraordinarily helpful! I've gotten the Microchips tuner and Advance bed cover as a result of feedback here...in addition to saving time w/ installation info.
I've got an '04 Lariat Screw. Mine has the 6-disc NON-audiophile and is pretty weak but I like the stock look.
There's a Sirius-ready 6-disc in dash changer/audiophile in the Explorer made by visteon (evisteon.com).
Not surprisingly, it's different in appearance than the F150 head units.
I'm not concerned about getting it to function overall as that shouldn't be much different than putting in an aftermarket, what I'm curious about is getting the steering wheel controls to work.
It seems logical that, given the Explorer w/ this radio has steering wheel controls, it could work w/ the same wiring harness.
The dealer is non-commital...any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
