Need help removing hub from 79 bronco dana 44
Hey everyone. I have an 86 F150, and I just swapped a dana 44 from a 79 bronco onto it. I was going to replace the brakes today and I cant get the stupid hubs off. It's got warn manual hubs on it. So far I took off the outer hub, removed the screw that holds on the flat ring, removed the flat ring, removed the spring, and removed the spring clip. The problem that Im having is getting the snap ring off of the axle shaft. I push the axle shaft towards the outside of the vehicle from the knuckle, but the shaft will only stick out about a 1/4" past the inner hub assembly, and wont allow me to even see the snap ring. I'v even tried prying the axle shaft outwards from the knuckle with a pry bar, but it wont go any farther. Has anyone else had this problem? Im really starting to get ****ed off at this hub. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Andy
Thanks,
Andy
