Hi, I hope this is the correct forum for this question. I'm considering purchasing a 2003 Ford F250 quad cab with a triton v8 5.4liter engine. The truck has 110k miles...and would be used lightly for towing horses locally. Is there anything about this model year and type of truck that I should be weary about? I've done some research about the loose spark plug issue, but that seemed to effect before 2003 and 2004 and after...so from what I could find, it didn't seem to be a problem.

Any input would be appreciated. I know nothing about trucks (except for what I google about them) I'm just worried about buying a lemon...

I have a 2003 f150 with a 5.4l. It has about 130k on it. Love the truck. Engine runs good, has no leaks and doesn't burn any oil. The only things ive done To it is regular maintenance, like oil changes, spark plugs, belts and fuel filters. It also pulls anything my truck can handle. The only complaint is the milage, (could be my super heavy foot) I'm only getting about 12 to 14mpg. Good luck and I don't think you should have to much trouble with the truck.

 

I have the same truck , see sig , it has been great no complaints at all and I pull a 10,000 pound fifth wheel..
