a little gas in your diesel??!!!
I was filling up earlier today, and on the oposite side of the pump there was this dude getting gas who had a french accent, and he seemed like a nice guy, asking me questions about my truck...until he asked me this question..." you ever put in a gallon of gas when youre filling up your diesel?"....I started cracking up because I thought he was kidding...but he was dead serious. He said in europe theres alot of small pickups with diesel engines, and once in a while he would put a little bit of gas with his diesel...I asked him why? His response was I had to try it out my self to find out. But said I would like the results....I pondered for a second, staring at him......said aurvua..or however its spelled...and left. Now, I would never do that, especially in a 50k truck, but what would happen?? And no, this is not a joke!!!!

When I worked as an Island boy at a truck stop in high school back in the mid '70s we would frequently have truckers ask us to add a couple gallons of gas to a few hundred gallons of diesel in the winter time. They did this primarily to help prevent gelling as I recall.
I'd stay with an additive like Powerservice or Stanidyne (sp?), or PRI-D, or the like.

As for Mr. French, remember a couple of years ago they were pouring wine into their car radiators so how smart can they be? Actually, they had added glycol to their wine until they figured out that was a bad thing so they used it in their cars.

Since the injectors are lubricated from the diesel fuel, I don't think I would try it.
The old duce and 1/2 trucks in the Army are always the slowest vehicles in the convoy. Some of them couldn't run 50 MPH with a load. So, each time we stopped to fill'em up, we would put 50% diesel and 50% gasoline. You could tell a BIG difference with that mixture. But then again, they are supposedly dual fuel engines, and can run either.
