What size tires are you using?

I have a 79 f150 with 33's on it, 350 gears, the fender flares and no lift,(although my truck seems to sit higher than others). I would like to go to a smaller tire size but not sure how small. I want to go with smaller tires and need to do some body restoration, so I may do away with the flares. They look good with the 33's but I don't think they will with a smaller tire. What sizes are you using and how large can you go within the stock fenders.

I have 32's on mine. I have heard 35's will fit. I don't have fender flares.

My next set are either going to be 33's or 35's. In my opinion 31's just look silly.

I run 32 x 11.50s they fit good. I have them on a 8 inch rim. I stuck a 35 12.50 on the front once and it fit but looked to big witout a lift.

I have 235/85-16's on mine, which are 31.5" tall. They are kind of narrow, but are load range E which I need.

Mine is a 4X4 but I'm not really interested in off roading. I built it for good street performance and probably don't want floatation tires. Probably LT tires as I don't plan to be hauling alot either, but I'm also curious about "P" type tires and how they work on a street truck.

I am also running 235/85 Q 16, yep bias ply tires... they were on the truck when I got them and new so no reason to change them for just being biased.

I run 33 12.50's on 15"x10" wheels, like you, with the flares. I used to have the same size tires on 8" wheels, but I think it looks alot better with the 10" wheels. About 15 years ago, I had a bought a set of 8" wheels that had 255 70's on them. I ran them on the truck till the were bald, they actually didn't look that bad. I guess it's all depends on what you like.

I have 31's and they look getto. Look in my gallery if you dont believe me. I am interested in how it performed with 33's and 3,50 gears. What engine do you have. Mine is a 400 and it acelerated pretty bad with 31's. I know it would be worse with 33's

265/75R16 LT, they work well for me at about 45PSI. I think they are on 8" rims but it has been a long time and I have slept a few times since I put them on. I have an almost new 235/85R16 for a spare on a late model stock rim.

the 33's really bog out the acceleration. i am running a 351M stock and thats the problem. ive got some pipes on it though so the long acceleration turns into a good sound. im sure if you have an auto like me, just upgrade the torque converter for some more stall and you should be set. or throw some performance parts ont the motor, which i plan on doing.

I run 33x12.50 15 BFG AT's, with 3.50 gears and a locker. no bog, in fact, if I am not careful, she will just fry them, and the resulting wheel hop will knock your fillings out. Will never go to a smaller tire, just doesnt look right, IMHO

44 swampers, although I am really considering some 49 iroks since the 44's are bald and one keeps going flat.

I am not having any acceleration problems. It will burn the 44's in 4 wheel drive.
