Looking to buy 2005 f150....

Looking at a 2005 F150 4x4 crew cab lariat. It has 173,xxx miles. They want $10,300 for it. Safe buy or not?

Truck will be mainly driven around town but will occasionally make 700 mile trips to the mountains and 400 mile trips to the lake.

Mike.

Any reason why? Because it's not worth more than that or because it will be prone to problems?

I just gave 11 for one like that w/ 90k miles. They wanted 15,500. I would offer them $5k if you like the truck. The worst they can say is no.

Btw, I had to leave the dealership before they took my offer lol.

Man, you guys make me depressed! Is that all it's worth these days? I think I paid almost $40K for mine -- new! I guess it's not worth trading in... LOL

Knowing how the miles are acquired and what kind of repairs/service they did before are the important things to consider when buying a used truck. Although the total miles is not that important anymore I would still say No for that price.
