The Marauder as a concept car was supposed to have a super charger but in production it was just a Cobra(detuned?) motor. I think they planned to use a Whipple or Roots type blower.
The 4.6 can be supercharged, Car and Driver did a flog several years ago where they did just that. This probably helped push Ford on the Marauder concept. Unfortunately, I think C&D blew up 2 or three motors getting it right.
I think the Lightning is a 4.6 with supercharger(Roots/Whipple I think). If so, then it can be done commercially and there might be junk yard motors around(I bet at a premium).
The main thing with supercharging stock motors like the 4.6, so I have read, is to be conservative, you don't want to melt things or detonate it to pieces. The chebby group I belong with did a LOT of supercharging(mostly Paxton type, some Roots/whipple and some turbo) experiments with the LT1 and discovered early on that the factory pistons(hypereutectic, I think Ford uses these too) would melt if you got too aggressive with the boost. If you want a lot of power you will need to beef up the innards if you want to live. Stay conservative and you will have plenty of fun for "reasonable" cost.
Good Luck,
