Ford and Quaker State

About to weeks ago I had a leaking intake Manifold gasket, so of course they change the oil after they were finish.

Today I went out to change the oil because I use Mobil 1 and a wix filter. So I drianed the oil all out and went to take the supposly motorcraft filter off but it turned out not to be a motorcraft but a quaker state brand filter.

That filter was a POS, while trying to get it off I ended up crushing the end like a soda can.

SO when did ford start using quaker state oil filters, or is this a isolated insidence.

I thought Ford dealers had to use motorcraft unless you provide a filter.

I know that dealers may use different brands of oil, but I thought they all used Motorcraft filters. I have seen Napa filters on used cars that were not Ford though. The Napa is across the street. Maybe they ran out of your size and bought from the guy down the street.
