Howdy all . . . looking for a bit of advice:
I recently rescued an 84 Ford F150 XL from the salvage yard (my goofy fried was going to junk it because the thing wouldn't engage in reverse and the seat is a little ripped).
Anyway, I have experience restoring / modifying old Ford Broncos and older Toyota Landcruisers, but this is my first voyage into F150 land. It looks to have a 351 V8 with custom headers, dual exhaust, and a performance intake (and it was going to be JUNKED). The body has very little rust, which I am cutting out, and the interior is in decent shape (except for the drivers side of the bench seat).
What type of upgrades are typical / popular on these babies? Any ideas for a source for a new bench seat (and possibly new door panels and a dash)? I have already found a new grill and a grill guard (so I can mount a winch).
Would like to put some chrome wheels and slightly larger than standard tires as well.
Any advice, direction, or warnings are greatly appreciated.

This may give you some ideas:

It's not really worth it to put in another dash - the '87-91 isn't much of an improvement and the '92-96 just absolutely will not fit. You'd have to change the cab, which actually isn't all that hard.
You can bolt in any bench seat or captain's chairs & console from any '80-91 F-series or Bronco, and maybe the '92-96 without too much effort (especially if you use '80-91 floor brackets), but if you go to captain's chairs, you'll want to change the carpet to go all the way back.

Welcome to FTE bcohchise!
You have come to the best Ford truck site on the web! If I were you, I'd just look around and scan a few of the forums for ideas! Believe me, if it woulda, coulda, shoulda went on a Ford truck, somebody here has done it.
Have fun, and again, welcome!
