Hurst Handle Problems

Today i bought a Hurst "T" Handle Shifter for my truck and when i went to put it on, i noticed that there was no thread on the stick and the bolts that came with the shifter were too small to thread over it, and there was nothing to thread into the bolts either. i dont know if my shifter is missing something, or if the hurst shifter is maybe missing some part out of it. If anyone can help me on this one it would be appreciated. Thanks -Jason

I'd call the company you ordered it from. The Shifter (if I'm thinking of the correct one) should bolt right up as a direct replacement for the old one. If it is not fitting properly, I would call.

im wondering if maybe something is wrong with my shifter itself? Is our shifter ***** suppossed to screw off, or pull off? From the way this Hurst Shifter seemed to bolt on, i would think that it would bolt on. But when i tried to twist mine off, it was either on too tight, or glued so i just pulled it off. I dont know if i maybe pulled something off in the process or what. Anyone who has an aftermarket shifter ****, let me know if your **** twisted off or pulled off. Thanks - Jason

Oh my bad...for some reason I thought you had got an all new shifter...like the shifter arm and all. Just the **** huh? I accidently pulled mine off when I was accelerating once time. I shifted to hard I guess. I wouldn't think it would bolt on either...that's wierd.

Do our shifter ***** pull off, or screw off? mine may be broken because i could not get it to screw off. From the way the other shift **** installed, it looked as if the shifter arm/stick whatever you want to call it should be threaded. thanks - Jason

Jason,
The shifter **** is a push-on, pull-off ****. The shaft is splined so that the **** fits tight and doesn't turn. If you turn it hard, you can bump the plastic **** over the metal splines on the shaft.
If your new handle has a bolt, as if it would bolt thru the shaft, then you'll have to do some modifications as there is no hole in the shaft to bolt thru.
