I'm not sure the first year they was built, I've seen them different year models If home built or factory, I have no clue. But up front You should find a Dana 60 Til the new body style in 98 then dana 50 up front. 3/4 ton and up will be leaf springs, 1/2's only one coil overs. If the truck was built in the 70's you'll find a dana 70 in the rear and 80-up if not wrong should be strelings. Should give ya around about idea

4x4 1 ton dually
I don't think there was a 1T Dually 4x4 until the Superduty came out. I just read an article about that, it was either Four Wheeler or Off-Road, either way it was the Feb issue. From 80-86, not even the 1T had a straight axle up front, they were all TTB, although the 250 and 350 had leafs(prone to breakage). It isn't too hard to convert a 4x4 to a dually, definately easier than a dually to 4x4.
