OEM fog lights

I was going to install OEM fog lights on my truck. Does anyone know if I can buy a complete wiring kit, switch and all anywhere.

Fog Lights Accessory

In my Ford F-Series Accessory catalogue from 1999 there is a Ford Fog Light kit. Their item number is AFS1002 with list price as $340.30. The phone number on the catalogue is 1-800-527-7799.

Is that including the lights themselves?

The picture and description imply that you get lamps, switch, and harness. The order sheet distinguished between 4x2 and 4x4, and also w/ or w/o auto headlamp. Call them or track them down on-line.

You may not need the wiring harness. Look behind the headlights and see if there is a connector attached to the radiator support panel. One on each side. If there is a connector, that is for the fogs. All you need is the lights and the switch. The switch is needed due to turning the lights on when you pull it out at the headlight position. The original switch pulls out but will not turn the lights on.

You can get 97-98 fog lights on ebay for under $100. I added fog lights to mine and wired a relay off of the corner light.

Question

Look behind the headlights and see if there is a connector attached to the radiator support panel.

It's running from headlights to support panel?

No, behind the headlights there will be a electrical connector that is not connected to anything, just attached to the radiator support cross member. One on each side. I had fogs installed in my 98 after purchase. The kit I got from Ford had the wiring harness, fog lamps and headlight switch. I did not need the wiring harness as it was already there. Just had to pop it off the crossmember and plug it into the foglamps, once they were installed.

Sometimes that's not always the case though. I found out the other day in my '01 Sport that the wiring is there for the fog lights and it does go to the main junction box under the hood. However the wiring isn't there from the fuse panel in the truck to the headlight switch connector, so I'm having to do that this weekend. Pull your headlight switch out and look and see if there is a plain yellow wire and a black wire with a white stripe. That is for the fog switch.

Where on the back of light switch should the foglights hook up? I can't see any other open slots. I am going to check the main junction box later today to see if it is wired to there. There are three plugs on the back of the light switch. There is one that has a yellow wire and a black wire with no stripe could that be it?

fog light install

i am curently installing fog lights on my 97 f-150. harness is allready there, most trucks w/bumber cut outs have the harness already there. although my headlight switch pulls out as to acuate the fogs, the switch is not installed in the assembly. found several at junk yards for 20$ -40$. popped out old switch installed one w/fogs. and everthing works. all i needed was the lights and the switch. got new euro lights off ebay for 100$.
