It was hard mountain company car miles on the brakes but you are right about the tires. The original Firestones were worn out totally at 26,000 miles. The other 8 company cars I drove the same territory with (Ford, GM and MOPAR) generally had their brakes worn out in under 40,000 miles. The Taurus and Sables had the poorest excuse for a brake rotor of anything I have ever seen.

you would think the price of these things you could get a damn michelin as part of the standard package.
