Warning Bell with Key in Ignition while door is open

Help!

Any ideas on how to disengage the warning bell that starts when the keys are in the ignition but a door is open? I deactivated the seat belt warning, but can't figure out how to turn off the other warning bell.

One catch, I want the warning bell to go off when I leave my headlights on.

Anyone tried to do this with any success? The dealerships won't help me out due to it being a "safety" feature.

Regarding having the bell sound if you leave the lights on - I know that on my 2001 XLT Escape the lights shut off automatically after some delay once I turn the ignition off. So I never turn my headlights off.

Im sure there is some sensor or button in the ignition that knows if the key is there. I would not mess with any of that stuff though alot of the wires in and around the ignition work with secuilock (anti-theft system) with out any of them in place the ignition will not allow the vehicle to start. the only thing i can think of is taking out the chime but then you will not no when a warning light comes on or your headlamps.I know that ford puts the those chimes way up in the dash though so they are hard to remove like you said b4 its a saftey issue lol
