body lift kits good or bad?

wanting bigger tires do not have the money for a suspension lift but was told on the 05's that the bumpers will not line up and the nerf bars don't fit anymore. Is this true and if not who makes a good kit that is complete. No having to buy extra parts to finish the mod.

Flat out...body lifts are crap if you intend on towing or going offroad with this truck. What is your intention of this vehicle? Will you tow? Are you just trying to gain height (looks), or gain function? With a body lift, there are many things you will need to alter to make it all work (linkages, gas neck filler, radiator supports, bumper brackets, etc). They also raise the center of gravity disproportionally, and I would hate to have all that added force resting on a few polycarbonate blocks (or whatever material they use these days).

Have you thought about just using a front end leveling kit? That should help those 33"s fit nicely. The rear doesnt need any help.

have one on order 2.5" should be hear this week 100 bucks with install. Not having good luck finding a semi aggresive tire with good wear rating have 18" by 8" factory rims; not sure what metric size is closest to a 33? Was told BFG has a 285/65/18 looks alright on there website.

Well I have the Performance Accessories 3" Body Lift and Daystar 2.5 Leveling kit and I have done off roading and pull a trailer daily with ZERO problems. Have been doing such for almost a year now!

I had the local Truck shop do all my work. They did a wonderful job. Actually the Nerf bars never moved. They are in the same spot. Still trying to decide if I want the Rancho 4" Suspension lift as well. I want to get the Bushwacker Pocket Style Fender Flares next.
