Exhaust and Air Intake

I'm a new user and I have a 2000 Ford Lightning. I bought it in September of 2004 stock, and it is still stock. I want to get an exhaust for it and I've been looking at a flowmaster kit, I'm not sure what to get. What is the best exhaust for a Lightning? I also want to get an air-intake, I've been looking at a K&N kit. I this the best system for the Lightning?

Thanks

Well there is not really a best exhaust or intake system for the Lightning . Most exhaust systems will not increase power only noise . The intake systems will increase the power about 5-10 Hp . Good upgrades for the Lightnings are a replacement blower or crank pulley and a programmer .

Hey thanks for the info, but i have another question now. Does the programmer disable the governor on the truck?

Thanks

IMO the flowmaster exhaust sounds like crap on these trucks. And I've heard that a few guys took it off because they lost power.

With the programmer, they can do anything. Diablos run hot so I would stay with Superchips. A conical air filter and 4# lower blower pulley should do the trick and get you in the 12's.

Thumbs up

Do some research and look at Magnaflow exhaust and Air Force One cold air kit.
I was real pleased with both
