Good for you

I plan on getting a Gibson this spring, along with a Volant Air intake. How much extra mileage are you getting with the Bullet, if any?

Air intakes or exhaust may void your warranty. Ford voided my powertrain warranty a few years ago for a borla exhaust and air intake kit...

What was the explanation given for voiding the warranty. The aftermarket part has to directly cause the failure, so how does a muffler and intake affect the powertrain?

Talking

I just put a Borla cat back, K&N cold air, and a superchips progamer on my 04 screw 5.4 4x4, sounds awesome way more power and if I try I get about 4mpg more. But I usually get less because I like to hear the Borla and K&N, and at idle and cruse (70 mph) it sounds stock in the cab!!!

A cat back exhaust system will NEVER void you warranty. For that matter, an air intake system shouldn't either (read up on the Magnuson-Moss Act), but good luck proving that non OEM filter assembly didnt suck contaminents in your system.

I know a little about the magnuson-moss act. My engine blew up and Ford claimed the added air flow from the intake and increased flow from the exhaust caused the damage. So the area rep voided my warranty. So don't tell me they can't void your warranty because they can. My oasis report said POWERTRAIN WARRANTY VOIDED. I paid for another engine out of my pocket. This was on my 2001 Lightning.
Anyone who believes that the magnuson-moss offers any real protection for those who mod their trucks is kidding themselves. It protects from common sense items like using different brands of oil or oil filters or spark plug wires, etc. If you short out your electrical system trying to wire an amp or something it will protect you against them voiding your tire warranty.
You hit one point on the head. Once Ford voids a warranty it is up to the consumer to fight Ford's decision.
