FMX and C6 swap??
I have a 67 f100 with a 351 cleveland 2v. Right now it has a 74 fmx tranny, which has locked up and broken bellhousing. I am finding difficulty finding a replacement bellhousing. My question is will a c6 work in place of the fmx while still using same driveshaft and slip joint. I know the fmx has a 26 spline output, but not for sure on the c6. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

jfarmer...it might be easier to find a C-4 to bolt in, rather than go in search of a small-block C-6...those are getting pretty rare around here these days. And you'd definitely need to shorten your driveshaft about two inches with a C-6, where you could leave it alone with a C-4. I'n not sure about using an FMX slip yoke on a C-6, but I know they work with C-4s. Someone else on the forum can probably answer that question pretty quick.
Downside to using a C-4 is that the tranny crossmember sits further forward than the FMX/C-6 mount. It's been over 15 years since I've been under a '67-'72 truck, so I'm not sure if it's easy or hard to relocate the crossmember.
No matter which way you decide to go, make sure you look for a tranny that used a shift linkage, rather than a cable. The shift lever is totally differeny for a linkage compared to a cable.
