Unhappy hard water and the damage done

Hey all !
One of my trucks is a 1996 4700 IHC it has a fiberglass front clip and the paint was pretty nice until I parked it this summer in a storage yard that had a sprinkler that shot water on it for almost 2 weeks in 110 + heat. The water must of had been real hard cause it feels and looks like it edched in does anyone what I could use on it to remove the spots.HELP S.L.

Check around, but I've heard that vinegar will do the trick.

Take a small magnifying glass and look closley. Is the paint ETCHED? are there small pit holes in the paint? Or are the spots ON the paint. If so, use Mequires Scratch X on a very low speed buffer (400rpms) If there are pits in the paint, you'll need to polish them out with a medium grade compound that we use for acid rain damage. P.M. me and I'll tell you what to use and where to get it...Rolamd

water spots for Seymor

If the paint isn't etched, then you should be able to buff them out. Kit makes a product called 'scratch remover', and mequires makes 'Scratch X' either one will work. Use a foam buffing pad, 3", @ NAPA on a SLOW speed drill,or a low speed buffer, 600 - 900 RPM, Makita makes one that run as slow as 400RPM. apply very little pressure to the surface, let the pad & compound do the work.Good luck. Let me know how it works out...Roland
