Hello: Going to look at a potentially nice 2001 F150 with the 5.4. Extended cab 4X4. This would be an "extra" vehicle, I could be happy with the 4.2, let alone anything else.

So, on one of the other forums, don't remember and couldn't find it searching, someone had posted about a 4.2 chip that not only let you tune for power but had some sort of economy mode that let you really stretch out the MPG.

Has anyone seen anything like that for the 5.4? Would make the truck more useful for just running around town.

Might want to look at the tuner\chip forum, your not going to get any better mpg, just a bit more power and better shifts. Probally will not be happy.
