Mine was doing the stall as well. First trip to the dealers they found a "Vacum leak and dirty spark plugs" I don't know how the plugs can be dirty at 24,000 KM butttttt.... Anyway it ran good for 1 day then started stalling again at stops. Second trip to the dealer and they replaced the throttle positioning sensor. Since then (about 3 weeks) it has been fine.

My 04, F150, 4X4, Scab, Lariat has had a stalling problem for 48k miles. Many fixes, no cures, still stalls, intermittently. Great pickup, nasty problem.

does it start to idle low when it stalls? what if you tap the pedal, will it keep running? Is the tranny not downshifting as you come to a stop, causing the engine to run to slow? Try shifting into neutral and comming to a stop. I'm guessing it may be something in the variable timing as the engine drops to idle speed. How about if the engine is warm (after driving it) and with it in neutral rev it to 2500rpm, hold it, and then take your foot right off the petal. Does it idle smoothly right away or does the idle drop too low and then stall or fluctuate while running rough. If it is a problem with the throttle fly by wire it should fail under this test. Let me know what you guys find.
My truck shakes like if if the engine is going to shut off when I stop at a traffic light and it is hot!, I learned to put in neutral and off the AC (sometimes) to manage the problem!!!. I have a new throttle body recently installed (before the problem starts) which means it may not be the source of the problem.

During the problem, I noticed the rpm drop and fluctuate a little like if it is resisting further drop, but rpm goes back to normal when I change it from D to N.

Winter, summer, compressor off, compressor on, at my first stop sign, 700 feet away from cold start, the engine MAY die when I attempt to move away from the stop sign. The ------- has been flashed, several times. The mass air flow sensor? has been replaced. The throttle position sensor has been replaced. What is next, the disgronificator? Ha!

Same stalling problem. Taking to dealer tomorrow. From this thread, it sounds like it could be a whole host of problems. Hopefully they'll figure out what's wrong with it.

I have the exact same problem, as i come to a stop light my rpm's will tend to drop to around 350 ish and most of the time will stall. its happend about 12 times, i have had the truck for 3 months and only had 60,000 km's on it. it runs awesome at high speeds. very very rough idle when at a stop light and at low speeds. had it serviced at the dealer they cleaned the throttle body, and replaced the mast air sensor and tht didnt resolve the problem it still stalls. any idea?

Stalling problem

I'm lucky enough to have a friend who's a Ford mechanic. He replaced my throttle body and that fixed the problem. He said that you're not supposed to clean a throttle body. Most people clean it with carb cleaner or an equivalent and it strips off a coating on the throttle plate, keeping it from closing properly. If your truck is under warranty, it shouldn't be a problem to get it replaced. If it's out of warranty, I'd see if there was a TSB issued for it and make them replace it.
