ranger camshaft position sensor

Last night my 96 ranger 2.3 started running lousy, no power, and CEL. My scanner is telling me camshaft position sensor (0340). Where is the sensor located? Is it on the camshaft or the auxiliary shaft? How hard is it to replace?
