Stall tactics from dealer...?
Surely not, right? Well, I've had a fairly consistent brake problem (noise)since I bought my 04 F150 SCAB, XLT in April. They've turned the rotors, machined the pads, replaced the pads and rotors, etc. I recently found out that there are some 05 rotors available (part #: 5L3Z 1125 AA). When I took the part number to the service department, they had to "check with Ford engineers to see if there had been any structural change to the new rotors" from the old 04 rotors (4L3Z 1125 AA) that they had been putting on my truck. I was rather surprised that they were shocked that there was a new part (when they told me back in August that ford was working on a brake re-design). Now I'm told from the service dept. that 1) these two rotors could be the same part, no change at all or 2) there was a change in the 05 part, but it won't retro-fit the 04 trucks (not buying this since the 04's and 05 are practically the same truck). I guess the question is... could they be trying to stall for some reason? Hoping I get tired and quit pursuing this warranty issue? Waiting for the warranty to run out? Any ideas? I have a lawyer lined up, but I wanted to give them a chance to try out the new rotors before pursuing lemon law. Only problem is that the dealer's service department seems reluctant to do so. Any suggestions?
