Oil Pump Shaft Timing - Timing Belt ???

I am replacing the timing belt on my '93 2.3 Ranger. I have the crank and cam timing set correctly. Is there a timing mark for the oil pump shaft? I can find a mark on the oil pump pulley, but I can't find a corresponding mark on the housing to match the mark on the pulley. If it is there, where is it located? If you could give me an appoximate location such as 8:00, that would help.

If there is a mark and my old eyes can't find it, why is it there and why does the oil pump shaft need to be timed? What runs off of the shaft that requires timing?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks, Jim

It really doesn't matter where the mark is pointing on the accessory shaft on the dual plug EDIS trucks. At one time it was important, as the distributor was driven from this shaft, but since it only drives the oil pump now it is unimportant.
