Having trouble finding Rotella 5w here in the Cincinnati area. Anyone able to help out with this? Have 15w in now and get a terrible romp on cold start up for 2-3 minutes or so. I thought I would try the 5w this time to see if it made any difference. Thanks for any help. 5moons

To be honest with you Tim, when I got the truck the oil level was 1/4" up the metal shaft of the dipstick and the truck ran flawlessly, but it was also during the warmer season. Did the first oil change and put the level right at "min" and ever since it has idled very rough, and now romping on a cold start-up. Just getting ready to do 2nd oil change in 500 miles or so.

Just paid $3.99 for the Mobil 1 5w40 at Checker (same as Schucks & Kragun).
Great price for a great oil

...Hum...the difference between where it was new and where you have it now would not make the engine romp....have you had it flashed...have you had it to the dealer?

No I have not had it to the dealer, talked with them about it and they would like to see it, however I am leary of a flash, I do not want to lose my tow/haul mode. I am very pleased with the way it currently functions while engaged for towing.

Tim, 04, 10/03 build date, 04 motor, 7500 miles, no problems. I have seen my mileage slip by about 2 mpg, but I don't by em for the fuel mileage.

I think I looked at the 10W 30 while I was in wally world and I thought it said to go to 5W due to the cold. Cant remember. Anyway this has been helpful in trying to determine what type to get. 5W 40 or the Delow 400 looks like my options for now. I will be going to Anchorage Tuesday so I will probley see what I can find. PS can anyone recommend who has the cheapest prices for fuel filters?

Thanks

Now that make sense. I have 2 filters but I have to buy three. I guess I could buy 6 then have 3 fuel filter changes. Who sells oilguard?
