Stabalizer Link Bushings

Stabalizer Link Bushings
I have a front stablizer bar on my 2001 F250 5.4 4x4 CC short bed. I was getting this "clunk" noise when I hit even the most minor bump in the road. Everytime I hit a bump it was like someone was taping the frame rail with a hammer. I traced it to the stabalizer bar link bushing.
Has anyone else experience this problem? The truck has 25,000 miles on it, and it seems awefully soon for a bushing failure like this.
What the heck kind of "bushings" are those in the stabalizer links? It looks like it's sealed with some sort of rubber boot. Are there aftermarket urethane replacements that anyone is aware of?

The end links in my `01 F250 SC PSD 4x4 were shot at 29,000. They were replaced then, and now at just over 35,000, the left one is bad again! Even though they are under the ext. warranty I've got, I think I'm going to order some after market end links and some poly bushings. The diesel is more than heavy enough to offset the extra stiffness of the poly bushings. I've never seen anything like the stock ones before either. Everything nowdays seems to be sealed for "short" life. I'm not sure if they are even serviceable. Hopefully someone will chime in that info.
Hope that helps,

There isn't anything to 'service' on a rubber bushing. If you want, you can take them off and put some silicone grease between the bar and the bushing to keep them quiet, but lubing them is not necessary.
For some good polyurethane bushings, contact Energy Suspension. Or check out your local 4wd shop, as most sell poly bushing kits there. I put Energys on both my front and rear sway bars and they do make a difference with sway around corners and rocking when going over uneven bumps in the road. Cost about 30 bucks per set. Make sure you measure the bushings that go around the bar and give this measurement to the guy at the parts counter because there are a few different sizes of bushing used on the trucks. It took a few tries to get the right size bushings for my truck.

I was referring to the Front Stabilizer Bar End Links. I have yet to find replacement bushings for the factory end links. They would have to be like the replacement trackbar bushings as far as design, but I would want to find the proper size before I press the old ones out.
I think your style of end link is different than on the Super Duty.

I got this info from the Dieselmann's Page:
Unrelated to the sway bar bracket breaking is problems with the frame bracket breaking at the top of the sway bar link. There is a cast bracket available to correct this, P/N F81Z-5C495-BH. OR, to correct this and the problem of the link bushings shifting off center and contacting the bracket or sway bar, model/year 2000 links (P/N 1C3Z-5K483-BB and -BA) and brackets (YC3Z-5C495-AA) with attaching hardware may be installed. SSM 15157
I guess the off centering problem still exists, even in the new links.
