Minnesota- It is illegal to mock skunks.

Brainerd, Minnesota- Every man must grow a beard

Ohio- It is illegal to sell beer while wearing a Santa Claus suit, even if you are a dog.

Seattle, Washington- It is illegal to sell lollipops. Suckers are fine.

Virginia- All bathtubs must be outside, not in the house.

Toronto, Canada- It is illegal to ride a streetcar on Sunday after eating garlic.

Cleveland, Ohio- It is illegal to capture mice without a hunting license.

Arizona- It is illegal to hunt camels.

Kentucky- It is illegal to carry an ice cream cone in your pocket.

New York State- It is illegal to shoot a rabbit from a trolley car.

New Jersey- It is illegal to slurp soup.

Arkansas- A man is allowed to beat his wife, but no more than once a month.

Chicago, Illinois- It is illegal for a woman that weighs 200 pounds to ride horses in shorts.

Miami, Florida- It is illegal for a man to wear a strapless gown.

Mesquite, Texas- It is illegal for children to have unusual haircuts.

Connecticut- It is illegal to walk across the street on your hands.

And my favorite…

New York- It is illegal to do anything against the law.

 

In the town where I went to college it's illegal to eat ice cream on the main street and it's also illegal to throw a snowball.

 

Hmmm that one in indiana .......no wonder soap sales drop off in the winter....

 

So Heavnbound, how many flying vehicle's do you have in Alaska. That sounds like the best way to go moose hunting.

We have hundreds of flying vehicles - mostly bush planes, but we have a number of ultralights and hot air ballons. But it is HIGHLY ILLEGAL to hunt from an aircraft. They will bust you big time for that! You can fly into hunting areas and fly out but you have to wait 24 hours after landing to start hunting.

And the Fin and Fur Guys have airplanes too!

 

In Indiana it is illegal to teach the value of PI as 3.14, it must be taught as 4.0

 

In Calgary,

There is a law stating that EVERY business must have a tethering post for livestock. Ie: Horses.

Also,another stating : Dish water cannot be thrown out into the street.

The sad part is these laws where made for a reason

 

some of them sound like old laws that no one pays attention too anymore. Some sound like laws made because of certain situations that were experianced and complained about.

 

In Texas it's illegal to carry wire cutter in your pocket...

 

Seems I read somewhere that in some town here in MS...it's against the law to shave in the middle of Main street on a Sunday. I wonder how many actually did that in order for it to be banned?

If you think about it, alot of these laws were probably made when the country was still in the infant years, the cities listed are mostly trading ports so who knows what was going on in the streets.

 

I am sure I saw a thread around somewhere that listed a site that had all these wierd laws. Can't remember where it was though.
