Ford Motorsport camshafts GOOD OR BAD???

I wasn't able to determine what product those part #'s are, but one was $42 and the other was $80....this sounds a little cheap for a camshaft, have ya got the right part numbers? Usually Ford sells their alphabelt line of cams, and the part numbers end in E303 or B303 etc etc
I would stay away from a Ford camshaft, not because they don't make a bad product, but because it's probably not the right camshaft for your motor. A custom grind camshaft from Comp Cams is probably a better idea.

Those camshaft numbers are correct. They are directly from the Ford Racing catalog.
Why would you say these cams are incorrct for my application if you haven't seen the cam specs? Both are for low RPM, towing ect applications.
A custom grind is a great idea though. Who has the best prices on custom cams? And where can I get the info needed to design a custom cam.

Those are old FMS flat tappet camshafts, mustanggt221, if you look in the right place you can still get them for $49 and $69 I believe, so the price you found sounds about right.
Will they make a difference over what you have, probably, are their better camshafts yes.
The custom cam maker would design the camshaft, thats what they are getting paid for.
Search for camresearchcorp.com they only do ford custom camshafts.
Call up comp cams and crane, search on the internet for their website, write their number(s) down and give the tech(s) a call, they get paid to help you. For what your after I think a custom would be overkill but thats my opinion. If you call comp cams, more likely than not they would recommend on of the XE line of camshafts, everyone seems to like them, as long as their isn't failure during the break in period. With all that said, the company I mentioned if I remeber correctly has reasonable prices for custom cams.
Good luck
