starter

There are also available aftermarket mini-high torque starters, which are a lot lighter than the stock units (like about 12 lbs lighter). I am using one and it has done well so far. http://www.autoelec.com makes them.

All 6cyl. 223's from 54 64 will interchange and Some early FE engine starters will also fit I'll guess and say 1958 thru 1962, 332 352,and the 390. My brother has a 1958 fairlane and I can remember robbing a starter off his parts car to get my 56 up and running back in highschool.
