To me, hockey is the most difficult. It invovles alot of balance (more than most sports), speed, agility, the ability to take a direct hit while not falling over on ice also while keeping the puck in your possesion, so much to list. But, I am a little biased since I played hockey
Second to hockey IMO would be rugby.

I agree with wezol, although skating is pretty easy to learn, everthing else is pretty tough.

I'll have to say wrestling. I wrestling in high school, as well as played all the other sports (football, baseball, did some basketball, tennis). It's one of the most physically and mentally strenuous sport there is, on the mat and off. You're the only one out there, can't rely on others to help you out. A lot of mental determination off the mat, it is a 24hr sport, watching what you eat so you can maintain weight and watching what you do so you don't do something stupid to hurt yourself. Even though you're on the mat one at a time, it was the biggest "team" sport I've ever been involved in.

Stock Car Racing. Many more variables than any other sport.

I forgot to say my opinion. I think water polo, because you have to do the egg beater for however long a game lasts. It is the only sport where you have to be active to stay alive, you can't stop swimming.

Water Polo, I had some friends in High School that played and they were in better shape after that season than any other sport I have seen. You need strong legs, great endurance, explosive speed, and really strong shoulders and arms.

I'm with Wezol...hockey. Man wasn't meant to fly around the ice with little pieces of metal on their feet, plus work the puck and brace for that big schmo about to cream you into the boards!

All the other sports you just run, throw, hit, bounce, or catch. We all can do that to some degree. Except wrestling (that'd be my second choice).

Without a doubt, it's got to be hockey.

I agree with wezol... have you ever tried to fight on ice? or tried to stop a small black object traveling at 90mph+? I too play the greatest game on ice!

Wrestling. The matches are only 7 minutes long for a reason. #2 may possibly be swimming. #3 Boxing.

#1. wrestling, ask any wrestler. sometimes i'd pin a guy in 7 seconds, but alot of times it would go the whole 6 minutes. it doesn't sound long, but i've played football, soccer, ran track, and theres nothing like it.
hockey is definiatly up there too, lot of my friends played.

I played football back in high school, that was tough, i was an O-lineman that weighed 220-240 lbs. needless to say, I was tiny against the guys across the line from me. That was tough. Then you throw in the pracitces in full pads in 100 degree weather while in a drought, and very few breaks. YOu talk about sick, people were getting sick left and right. football is a rough sport, it takes a lot out of you, but I love it.

Having played multiple sports in high school, wrestling was by far the most demanding physcially. It was 6 minutes with just you and that other guy. You didn't get to take a "time out". You were either in top physcial condition or you were counting the lights. And as stated before, it's a physically challenging sport both on and off the mat. The weight cutting was always tough. From October to March you had to watch what you ate and the training seemed like it was nonstop. It was always a relief when the season came to a close and you could start eating normal again. I loved the whole aspect of wrestling but I couldn't stand the weight cutting. It was hard on the system, mentally and phycially.

Boxing not on list? The "Sweet Science" is my choice.
