I just installed my new AirAid Cold air Intake and it went smooth. The truck kinda sputtered when I first started it, then ran fine. The MPG reading is increasing, I guess I will just have to drive it for an hour to get it up there. My engine light is now lit up? Is this normal? Everything looks fine and it runs great, any Ideas?
I wonder if the computer is tuned to see a certain amount of airflow for a given throttle position, and if it sees significantly more or less, it throws up an error.
I had the same problem with my Airaid setup on the 5.4 litre engine a few weeks ago. Call AirAid, and they will send you a new tube with a revision in it to get the light off. They won't even question the issue-just ask for a new tube . Mine is fine now.
Didja kill the battery while you did the Airaid install? It resets the PCM and then you should be good to go. Had mine on now for over 4 months and never a code.
I disconnected the battery again and now the problem is gone. What a cool product, my mileage has increased 2 mpg just with this bolt on. I have ordered the AirAid intake spacer, can't wait to see what that does.......
