How The Circuit Works

With the Ignition Switch in RUN, battery voltage from Fuse 5 is applied to the Backup Lamp Switch (manual transmission) or Park/Neutral Position Switch (automatic transmission). When the transmission is shifted into reverse, the Backup Lamp Switch (manual transmission) or Park/Neutral Position Switch (automatic transmission) closes, and battery voltage is applied through the 140 (BK/PK) wires to both the Right and Left Backup Lamps. Both lamps are grounded through the 57 (BK) wires to ground G101.

REFERENCE :For diagnostic information, refer to «Section 17-01 » of the Service Manual.
