And to a busy towing season!!!
What a mess Toronto was this morning! Nightmare traffic jams, wrecks all over the place, stuck & broken down cars everywhere!
This was one of those days that makes me really want an auto tranny truck! My clutch knee is killing me!
Bundle up boys & girls, winter is officially here!

We've had two snowfalls in Mckerrow/Espanola, the roads were a little bad ( the private ones) but other than that only a few inches, I'm looking forward driving that John Deere ( my dads 79' 950 ) hey beast how does your 85 handle in the snow? or do you even drive it in the snow?

Funny you should ask. Last winter was the first year I had it. It handled poorly in the snow.....until I added a little weight to the back. Then it was a little better. BUT, this year I am one step ahead of the game! I just went out and bought 2 Traction King PLUS tires for the back. If with no weight it did better in the snow but I am still putting a little weight in the back. Shouldn't be too bad for a 2 wheel drive!

Ya thats what i figured, I am really considering buying that 84 flareside for my college vehicle, my mom says i can only have one truck on the road at one time though so i figured i would use it as a winter truck so i wouldn't have my 76 in the snow. then when i go to college it would be my primary vehicle for the better gas mileage of course.
when you test those tires in some decent snow let me know how it handles, we've already had enough hear that my dads e350 needed a lot opf weight in the back to make it up some hills.
Cheers

Oh, I can tell you EXACTLY how those tires handle in the snow. I already have them on my plow truck that I use at work. It is the only reason why I bought them for my truck too! They are excellent. I have plowed 2 seasons with them on my plow truck (pics in gallery) and have gotten stuck a total of ZERO times. Excellent tire for a good price.
The Governement of Ontario has a list of tires that rate exceptionally well for snow. These tires are on them. The list is here: http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/topic...r/wtirlise.htm

AND... Sub-zero temps.
After we dragged the C-word truck to get it running, the fun began!
Full throttle kind of day that we've been waiting for all year. Dry roads & -20 temps killed alot of cars. CAA was on code red and by the afternoon they were at 4 hrs. ETA for light service & 24 hrs. for towing.
We went steady `till 3:30 pm when I had to take a time-out for breakfast. After that, the rest of the day kind of fell flat on it's face & was over by 6 pm. Just as well, rowing that C-word is alot of work, unlike an automatic!
Break out the Tylenol & hit the bed! Tomorrow should be nearly as busy cleaning up the left-overs.
Enjoy the season gentlemen, it never lasts long enough.
