A little stiffer than stock, also depends on tire and inflation....what brand shocks?
It helps to have a SD specific valved shock..

DcSpecial or JetJock can add a lot more info for you.....

I have a 8.5" lift (4" springs and 4.5" hanger and shackle) and I think it rides pretty good for a lifted truck. Only things I've done to effect the ride is adjust tire pressure and order up DR Signature Series 2.0" reservoir shocks.

I agree that tire pressure and tires will effect the ride.

I have the same question as Yeti, what brand of shocks are you going with?

Have you thought about going with crossover steering and trac bar relocation? I have it on my 8.5" lift and I definately would recommend it, especially with a 10" lift.

That is a great idea if you are looking for a great ride....

I'll agree with you there too... My ssr's will absorb a lot of bumps, running them at 35/32 psi.

Yeah, I run my PJs at 38 psi front 24 psi rear and it made a noticeable difference vs. when I mounted them new...since the tire place had them at 55-60 psi. Now if they only wouldn't shake when they're cold......

Mine did the same... They were wearing on like the center eight inches or so... it was terrible. Those guys just read the tire and start filling...
oh well.

the shocks the salesmen might sell me are the new procomp reservoirs...he said their basically the edelbrock reservoirs in a different packaging. Theyre significantly les expesive, since I need eight of them!! This build is pretty much for a show and tell driver...not really gonna be "off-road" too much...did I mention its a dually??? The tire issue is another headache...Im probablly going to go with the 38.5 IROKs since theyre 10 ply. Ill live with the pizza cutters in the front for now. I have a few things that Im getting cromed. The trucks all black..so itll look pretty sick!! Anyway, Ill see what the superlift springs are like at first, and go from there. How can you tell if the shocks are valved for your specific truck??

I don't know jack about the Pro Comp reservoirs.
You'd have to ask what the valving is or if they are valved specifically for the SD.

Why do you "need" eight shocks?
Really you only need four, IMO. Additional shocks "look cool" but if depending on the valving it may make the ride too stiff for some.

How much are the Pro Comp reservoirs??

Why do I need eight shocks??? Its kinda like asking why do we need a big as truck to drive around when a little honda would be ok...because we want to right??!! and itll look good...again, this is more of show and tell truck than a work horse. I believe the shocks are 4 for just under $400.00 They just came out and their on a two week back order.

I see.....I was the word "need" that had me wondering.

$100 for a reservoir shock is pretty cheap when you compare it to a 2.0" Fox, Bilstein, King, SAW, or DR reservoir shock.

You didn't happen to go to four wheel parts did you? I could be wrong though...

yes I did??? Their doing my lift also....they are the closest shop to me that seems reasonable. They also have a 3 year warranty for I think $300.00 on the lift. Anything happens just take it back and itll be all taken care of by them.

The reason I ask is because four wheel parts owns pro-comp, or maybe its the other way around, im not sure. At anyrate they will push pro-comp products more than other brands... just something to keep in mind.

I agree with 02SS, 4WheelParts do promote Pro-Comp products. If you look at all their adds, majority of the stuff in there that have killer deals are Pro-Comp products. Also, I have friends that work at various 4WheelParts location in S. Cali and they tell my they do push to sell Pro-Comp.
