I have recently acquired an 86 ranger extended cab 2 wheel drive with a 2.3 and a 5 speed and no AC. The engine is pretty rough. It uses about a quart of oil every thousand mile, so I will be puttin down some money on a new longblock. I was thinking, a longblock turbo motor from a turbo coupe t-bird or a capri or a merkur from the same year in my ranger would be pretty badass. As long as I am getting a new motor, why not? I could get the turbo and all the other stuff on ebay. My question is, has anyone done that, or know of anyone who has done that? Are the tranny bolt patterns identical? If anyone could give me any info on the switch, I would be greatful. Thanks,
