Leather steering wheel worn

My leather steering wheel is worn badly. The tan leather has had the die worn and now it's "natural brown" what can I do to fix it.

Are you sure it's not just dirty? How about a nice lace up cover?

You can probably find one at the salvage yard pretty reasonable or Ebay. I have two of them here in my computer room. I put on a nice wood Navigator wheel on mine about 6 months ago. Had to do some engineering to the wiring and use a Navigator clockspring but it looks nice.

I had the same problem with my '00 Eddie Bauer and found a product on the web that made mine look like new. I believe the company was leatherrenew.com. They had the correct color (I think it's medium parchment but you may want to check yours to be sure). Easy process---clean your wheel real well with degreaser and then with alchohol. The new finish goes on using a foam brush or you can spray it on. Dries real fast and maintains the look and feel of the original finish. On my previous expy, I did the fix with a steering wheel cover but much more satisfied with the refinished wheel.

I'm not familiar with dye-paint but it sounds like it would be similar. You can probably get all the info you need from their web site--leatherrenew.com. The color I used on the steering wheel is their #7275 med. drk. parchment and it matched perfectly. I redid my front seats as well and look like new again (different color and not sure what the color code was but it was a lighter finish). If you are just going to do your steering wheel, buy the 4 oz. size for $10.95 and you will have plenty left over. You can also buy a sealer but I didn't try this as I thought it might add a little gloss that I didn't want. The product does go on like a paint and I just used a cheap foam brush. I did mine with the wheel intact and simply masked off the speed control buttons etc. I went a little light with the finish where the leather seams were to prevent build-up in these areas. All in all, takes maybe 1 hour tops from start to finish.

I was hoping that someone could confirm that my steering wheel color is medium parchment. I was going to order a leather treatment from www.leatherrenew.com. that was recommended on this thread.

The interior code is 1X for my 99 EB expy which per the dealership is prairie tan, but I have a two-tone interior.
I have a few photos of my interior:

Thanks,

same as mine. I just got a new lace up cover from griotsgarage.com . Price was reasonable and now I don't have any holes. After I posted a tear developed right at the 12 o'clock position. I have used some leatherrenew products. A sealer for my wife's leather jacket. worked very well. fwiw
