need help in prosses of hooking up boost

I am trying to hook up the boost gauge by autometer. Wher do I tie in to get boost reading? All they gave me was some copper fittings. Pic would be nice. Thanks

Look where you oil fill is. Put your hand on it then follow it straight back to the firewall. There is a hose that goes to the firewall to a box. that is your map sensor. Just put a tee in that line and that gives you your boost reading

Here's a good site: http://www.smokyvalley.com/gauge_install.htm
Also look at the dieselmanor website, under Resources, then Install Instructions. Very nice step-by-step.

Thanks

Thanks for the help. I was thrown off because I did not have a t for by boost set. Went to the auto parts store and riged up an adapter. I guess there is no way to know if it is leaking or not?? With the 60hp predator setting the most boost I can get is about 20 psi.

Thanks again..

That doesn't seem right. Does your truck seem to bog down after 20psi? I think the computer will tell the truck to defuel about 22-24psi. With a chip I would think you should see higher ratings than that. Did you hose clamp or wire tie your connections? Were they barbed fitting? I'm thinking possible leakage.

I used a 3 way copper barbed fitting in line with the map senser hone. I came off the thre-way with a 2 " pig tail of the same size hose. The only fitting I had to go into my pigtail was a 3/4 male threded copper piece. I screwed in the copper piece and put a hose clamp on all my connections. Used pipe dope on my ferreur fitting. The rig may have not worked. Is there any way to test it? I guess I could take off the hose on the map sensor and pressurize it somehow and watch my boost gauge.

Domino, I really didnt drive the heck out of it. I got on it a few times up and down the road. No power loss, in fact I was suprised that when I felt the take off right after the boost dropped.
