I took my 06 Ranger in to get the passenger side power mirror replaced on Monday. While it was there I mentioned a small squeak I heard occasionally while letting out the clutch from a dead stop. A couple hours later I got a call from the service manager saying they had heard the noise and would be replacing the clutch disk, pressure plate, slave cylinder/bearing. Said they had a TSB for clutch squeaking issues due to the wrong grease being used at the factory, as a result I ended up with a whole new clutch. Truck has 34K miles on it. Just wondered if anyone else had heard of this.

 

In my experience, Ford has given me excellent In-Warranty service.

 

Would make me want to know how many other applicable TSBs are out there that I should be aware of. Seems like a comprehensive warranty program would send out alerts or newlsetters to the owners as an advisory.
