LARGEST TIRES THAT CAN FIT UNDER 2001 FORD RANGER
#22
1 1/2 inches at most - all they are doing is adjusting the nut on the end of the torsion bars - but still staying within factory spec so to speak...to much and it ruins the ride, makes it real stiff, but just a minor tweak and you get about an inch to an inch and a half....it will level your truck out and give you enough clearance to run 31x10.50x15's on an 8" wide wheel and have zero rubbing issues.

Pretty much. 31 or even 32 inch tires will work just fine. The torsion bar crank will basically level the truck front to back, so when you load up the bed, the back will look low. Just remember that when you do it, that you'll need to get the alignment checked because your changing the geometry of the front end.

It's the easiest, least expensive way to go. If you don't want or can't afford new rims, you can keep your factory rims and just get tires. I am pretty sure your edge came on 7" wide wheels - they will work fine, but if you upgrade 8" would be the way to go. I would say if you were on a budget the three things I would do would be to have someone who knows what they are doing crank your torsion bars, spend your money on a good quality set of 31's - like BFG's or Goodyear Wranglers (I'm not trying to start a tire war just stating my prefrences here)...and then get rid of the factory junk shocks and get a good quality set of shocks - Ranchos, Bilsteins, KYB - a good quality shock(again just stating my prefrences on shocks go easy boys no need for a shock debate either). Those are the three things I would do that I have done to several Rangers I have owned now - those things I can say from first hand experience will greatly improve the over-all handling on and off road of your truck.

No prob. I don't know about the Dominators, I am more concerned with function than I am looks so it all depends on what you use your truck for - look at the construction of the tires, the one thing the two manufaturers I spoke of have over everyone else is they have 1 ply thicker bottom and side wall construction. Just a little more puncture resistant than the rest was my point. Good quality tires, and good quality shocks can make a huge difrence in your trucks handling characteristics, but it also depends on what you use your truck for....you know if you don't go off road much puncture resistantce isn't as much of an issue.

I've never heard of dominator. I know the dayton timberline's we sell at tires plus arent too bad for the $$$. Otherwise you could get some dueler revo's or something (pretty expensive however). Personally I like the look of the firestone destination a/t's on a ranger though.
Whatever you decide, please trust me on this, or you will be kicking yourself later.
Dont spend say 400 bucks on some cheap 31's just so you could have 31's sooner, then decied they ride like crap, wear fast, and are out of round, when you could have saved up say, 200$ more and bought some really nice tires that will last you for a long time, and perform well on and off road.
